The Jetboat is a watercraft used by the Nekton Family. Unlike the Rover, the Jetboat operates on water (instead of under it), and is considerably faster. In fact, it is the fastest vehicle used by the Nektons.[citation needed]
Where the Nekton's underwater crafts and suits are housed in the Aronnax's moon pool bay, the Jetboat is stored and launched from a torpedo tube.
The boat is 6 meters long (20 feet) with a displacement of 1.5 tons.[1] Like the Rover, it accommodate up to four people, with the two front seats being able to control the craft. It is also solar-powered.
